Teens – are you looking for a fun and exciting way to begin your summer vacation? Rose Island Playhouse will be offering a one week Theatre Camp for teenagers this summer. The camp will be for students who are entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2007. It will be held from 10:00-2:00 the week of June 11-15 at the Charlestown Arts & Enrichment Center (999 Water Street). Students will be involved in different theatre classes during the week learning specific aspects of theatre (acting, set design, sound, etc.) from various directors in the community. All students will also have the opportunity to develop a monologue which can be used for their future theatrical auditions.
The culmination of the week will be a free performance which will be produced for the community at 7:00 on Saturday, June 16. The cost will be $30 which will include daily lunch and snacks, script, performance rights, and free tickets for Saturday evening’s performance. Parents who have more than one child attending may register the second child for $20. Registration is limited to the first 25 applicants – so get your forms in early! Please call 812-289-1329 with any questions or to request an application. Applications must be received by June 7, 2007.

Our long-range goal is to build a facility in Charlestown, Indiana, which helps support this mission and which will be available for community use.
